The Capital District Sports Women of the Year (CDSWOY) program celebrates outstanding female student-athletes from high schools and colleges in New York’s Capital District. Founded by Eric McDowell of The Eric Idea Agency, this initiative honors those excelling in academics, athletics, and community service. With a rich history in promoting women’s sports, Mr. McDowell established the CDSWOY program in 2018, achieving 501(c)(3) status by 2019. The program invites nominations from local Athletic Directors, with honorees chosen by a media committee.
