Section 2 and the CDSWOY nominations

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Capital District Sports Women of the Year, Inc. President Eric McDowell recently visited with Ed Dopp, the Executive Director of Section 2 of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.

The Capital District Sports Women of the Year program honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State. CDSWOY will honor outstanding female student-athletes who excel in academics and community service as well as athletics. A total of 94 high schools and 15 colleges feature collegiate athletics in the Capital District. A committee that features media members selects the honorees in each category. The awards Gala at Proctors features five collegiate and 10 scholastic honorees, with two Grand Sports Woman of the Year honorees selected by the media committee from the finalists in each category.
