
Naseyah Dix named to Capital District Sports Women of the Year Class of 2021
SCHENECTADY, NY — Naseyah Dix, a freshman at Bryant & Stratton College, has been named as one of the two collegiate award recipients for 2021 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year.
Naseyah, who competes in basketball, will be recognized at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala on Monday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. Tickets are on sale via proctors.org or through the Proctors Box Office phones, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 518-346-6204. All tickets must be purchased online or by phone.
The Capital District Sports Women of the Year (CDSWOY) honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State. The student-athletes will be recognized for their achievements in academics, athletics, and community service. More information is provided at the website, cdswoy.com.
Academically, Naseyah received Honor Roll recognition in the fall of 2020 and the spring of this year. She has a 3.2 GPA at Bryant & Stratton after her freshman year.
Athletically, Naseyah was a two-time nominee for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week. She was the basketball team’s Most Improved Player and made the All-Tournament Team at the Vaden Cup Tournament. She is the starting point guard for Bryant & Stratton.
Naseyah’s community service includes volunteering her time with the Mohawk Humane Society. She also mentors young children with the South End Café Healthy Kids Project.
CDSWOY will announce the final student-athlete recipient on July 21. A total of 10 high school and two college female student-athletes will be honored.
