Olivia Hoffman of Colonie Named to CDSWOY 2026 Class

ALBANY, NY – Olivia Hoffman, a senior at Colonie High School, has been named as one of the 10 scholastic award recipients for 2026 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization. Olivia, who competes in basketball, flag football and tennis, will be recognized at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala on Monday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. The Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization (CDSWOY) honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State. The student-athletes will be recognized for their achievements in academics, athletics, and community service. More information is provided at the website: cdswoy.com.

Academically, Olivia had a 98.4 GPA at Colonie. She earned top scores of 5 in three AP classes, while excelling in college-level classes including SUNY Pre-Calculus, Spanish 101 and Spanish 200. Her senior year included additional AP classes.

Athletically, Olivia was a member of two sectional championship basketball teams in her sophomore and junior seasons, and in her senior season, the team was the runner-up. She was the Sectional MVP in 20025. She was a fifth team All-State selection in her senior season and was an honorable mention honoree in 2024-25. She received first team All-League honors in the 2025-26 season and was a third team pick in 2024-25. Olivia played #1 singles in tennis in all five seasons with the team and compiled 56 total wins at #1 singles. She was also the captain of the team in her senior year. As a receiver in flag football, Olivia caught 80 passes for 1,047 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also recording 49 yards rushing. She also played safety and recorded 17 tackles and seven interceptions.

Olivia serves as a youth basketball coach for various younger athletes in the community.

Olivia becomes the second Colonie High School student-athlete selected by CDSWOY. She joins Isabella Franchi, who was selected in 2023. A total of 10 high school and three college female student-athletes will be honored at the August 3 event. The next recipient will be announced on June 16.
