Mattingly O’Rourke of Siena Named to CDSWOY Class of 2026
ALBANY, NY – Mattingly O’Rourke, a 2026 graduate of Siena University, has been named as one of the three collegiate award recipients for 2026 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization.
Mattingly, who competes in cross country and track, will be recognized at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala on Monday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. Tickets will be available online at Proctors.org soon.
The Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization (CDSWOY) honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State. The student-athletes will be recognized for their achievements in academics, athletics, and community service. More information is provided at the website: cdswoy.com.
Academically, Mattingly was a member of the 4.0 GPA club for the fall 2025 semester and holds a 3.92 cumulative GPA. She was a four-time MAAC All-Academic Team member, majoring in Business with a double concentration in Marketing and Human Resources.
Athletically, Mattingly won the Crowell Invitational with a personal record in the 3,000 meters in December (10:28.24). She finished fourth in the 800 with a PR of 2:12.47 at the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She won the 800 at the Red Fox River Rumble (2:14.50). Other highlights included a third-place finish in the 1,500 at RPI at 4:33.54 and a third in the Capital District Classic in the 400 (PR of 59.75). She was part of the 4×800 relay team that finished second in the Jaylin Rainford Invitational (9:55.65). Mattingly ran a PR of 5:05.24 in the mile at the Fastrack National Invitational.
Mattingly’s community service included working with the Campus Ministry, leading campus-wide rosary programming and faith-based engagement initiatives. She was a volunteer for the regional food bank, World Read Aloud Day and Girls on the Run. Mattingly also organized team efforts for the Letter for Troops Initiative.
Mattingly joins her sister, Allie O’Rourke, as the first sisters to receive CDSWOY honors. Allie was a scholastic selection for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 2025.
Mattingly becomes the fourth Siena University student-athlete selected by CDSWOY, joining Grace Dobrzynski (2025), Talia Spenziero (2024) and Olivia Lomascolo (2023).
A total of 10 high school and three college female student-athletes will be honored at the August 3 event. The final recipient will be announced on July 13.
