
Peyton Hoblock of Shaker Named to CDSWOY 2026 Class
ALBANY, NY – Peyton Hoblock, a senior at Shaker High School, has been named as one of the 10 scholastic award recipients for 2026 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization.
Peyton, who competes in basketball and golf, will be recognized at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala on Monday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. Tickets will be available online at Proctors.org soon.
The Capital District Sports Women of the Year organization (CDSWOY) honors the best and brightest female student athletes from high schools and colleges in the Capital District of New York State. The student-athletes will be recognized for their achievements in academics, athletics, and community service. More information is provided at the website: cdswoy.com.
Academically, Peyton had a 94.88 GPA at Shaker. She took AP classes in World History, U.S. History, Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Macroeconomics and Calculus. Peyton represented Shaker at the annual Section 2 Girls Basketball Scholar-Athlete Banquet. She will be attending Dartmouth in the fall.
Athletically, on the basketball court, Peyton was a three-time captain, a Section 2 Tournament MVP and multi-All-Tournament selection. She was a two-time WNYT-TV All-Star and a key contributor to sectional, regional and Suburban Council championship teams. Peyton was named to the New York State Sportswriters Association All-State Team, Class AAA, Eighth Team. Peyton was awarded the Suburban Scholastic Council Excellence in Leadership Award and New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreational and Dance (Capital Zone) Leadership Award, representing Shaker in both. Peyton also played for the golf team for five years and was the manager of the lacrosse team all four years of high school. She received numerous NCAA Div. I offers and will continue her academic and athletic career at Dartmouth.
In service, Peyton founded the Shaker High Athletic Advisory Council. She was the Section 2 Student Advisory Council representative. Peyton contributes to inclusive opportunities such as the Challenger League and works as a youth coach and camp counselor.
Peyton becomes the third Shaker High School student-athlete selected by CDSWOY, joining Mira Ginsburg (2025) and Leonni Griffin (2024). A total of 10 high school and three college female student-athletes will be honored at the August 3 event. The next recipient will be announced on July 6.
